90 Day Challenge

Have you ever been on a weight loss and fitness program? You were very excited starting out. You joined a gym, bought some sexy workout clothes, cleaned out your pantry and refrigerator, dumping your junk food stash. You were ready to go and, in about two weeks, give or take a few days, something happened — You decided to quit.  How Come?

Many people find change scary, even if it is good for them. That being said, losing weight can be scary, because in most cases, that weight is an emotional barrier. It keeps the mind feeling safe and protected.

My question to you is, what does change mean to you and how can you easily shift, one little step at a time, to make your life amazing?  For the next 90 days, change one small thing each day and ask yourself “How can I make this change fun?”  After that 90 days track your progress and see how far you have come.

6 Steps To Creating More Sales, More Wealth, and Better Health:

No matter what you do, no matter where you are, or where you go, the thing that you take with you that determines the tone and the energy of the day is your body, along with your mindset. Have you ever eaten something for lunch and suddenly wanted to fall asleep? Have you ever woke up and felt tired, even though you’ve had a full night’s rest? Have you ever felt off during the day, even though there wasn’t anything particularly wrong? Have you stared blankly at your computer screen after sitting there for hours, not being able to focus? That’s your body talking to you… Listen to it.

Hi, I’m Kimberly Lou, Executive Lifestyle Management Specialist. Today I will be discussing with you how clutter, whether it’s in our bodies, offices, homes, or minds, creates blocks and detours us from achieving our goals. My solutions are simple, and yet powerful. They will help you center yourself through the ups and downs of life and help you counteract the whirlwind of emotions that blind you with anxiety and fear, keeping you stuck in survival mode, instead of living mode. Instead of thriving mode.

Every person I know has rituals, some good, some not so good. These rituals can catapult us to success, or they can spin us out of control, causing us to go nowhere fast. Because our minds, bodies, homes and offices are filled with clutter it often can cause us to feel overworked, exhausted, and out of control. A task that might normally take you an hour to finish at work could possibly take twice as long because you are unfocused and virtually drained.

Clutter is everywhere. In our homes, work, minds, and especially our bodies. And when we make the effort to clear out that clutter, we free ourselves from the bondage of chaos.

We are going to start out by determining what drains your energy throughout the day. Following that we will come up with simple solutions on how to combat those issues, and then I will share with you 6 simple steps that you can easily do each day to get organized, create more structure, and remove the clutter from your life.

Ready? Here we go! Start with a piece of paper and pen in hand. By the time you’re finished reading this, you will have a plan of action that is easy to follow every day.

Start by taking a deep breath, and give yourselves this hour to be here and focused. If your mind begins to wonder, gently bring it back to the present time and event and take a few more deep breaths to ground yourself and release all the tension of your day.

Now that you are ready, ask yourself: “What in my life is holding me back from my true potential? What drains me of my precious energy?” Write down your answers.

I’ll share a few examples I’ve come up with for myself.

Example 1. The number one thing that drains me of precious energy is unnecessary worry about the future.

When I was a kid I lived in foster homes. My family life wasn’t the greatest to say the least. I never had the guidance I needed, and at 16 I was living on my own in survival mode. For years I fought to make it. It was a tough transition to switch from survival mode to living mode. Now, I have the tools to remain calm, even when things aren’t going my way.

Solution 1. Visualize what you want to have happen.

My solution to needless worry? I focus on what happens when I succeed. For example, instead of imagining the devastating events that worry creates in my mind, I write down what I would like to have happen, I create a plan of action, and then I visualize successfully working out that plan every day. This takes practice, there have been many times where I have had to rewrite my plan; however, I eventually get it right, and it feels amazing.

How To Maintain and Not Gain Over The Holiday Season

 {youtube}QIbnNp5Z1fE{/youtube}

Tis’ the season for yummy cakes and pies, turkey with all the fixings’ and oh yes, that dreaded bulge we acquire during the Holiday Season. Is there anything we can do to stop this or are we doomed? Below are some tips of what you can do to maintain and not gain over the Holiday Season, but first I have a few questions for you.

Have you ever experienced trying to quit an unhealthy behavior? What happened? You probably experienced some cold sweats, anxiety, and feeling like something was missing. Many people experience some rather uncomfortable side effects like headaches or nausea.

Sometimes moving toward your workout goal will have the same symptoms as quitting an addiction. Why? Well, as it turns out, the mind does not like to change. It gets comfortable in its rhythm and that’s why harmful behavior often continues, even if life-threatening conditions occur.

Based on your past choices, the mind develops patterns, or grooves and it becomes very comfortable and set in its ways. To your mind, it feels like something is being taken away when you change your routine, no matter how miserable you may be feeling. That’s why the first thing that you have to change is not your behavior, but your mind, if you expect the results to last.

To “let go” of an addiction/unhealthy behavior, you need to replace it with something to compensate for the loss. When you replace addictions with healthier choices, the behavior that’s slowly killing you, will disintegrate and fall away.

Now, I’m not saying you have to work out 50 hours a week and starve yourself. I don’t know about you, but I love eating ice cream and, if you told me I had to give up my favorite white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, I might just have to hurt you.

It’s true that if you add a salad at every meal, you will start to crave the nutrients in that salad. Your body naturally wants real food. The packaged quick-fix foods many people fill their diets with are like poison. As you add healthier choices, you will begin to no longer crave the junk. It will not happen overnight, but it will happen.

In addition, adding fitness routines helps you breathe and pumps more oxygen into your body, which has the added benefit of causing stress to fade. As a result, your blood sugar should start to regulate itself. This is a blessing for those who are diabetic, and your chances for heart diseases and stroke will diminish, leaving you with more energy to do the things you love to do. Men, you’ll have more stamina. I’m sure you can figure out where to use that. Women you’ll have more stamina too, for shopping.

To save precious time and pain, I created a three-part program, which assisted me and may assist you, to get through the cold sweats of starting and maintaining a fitness program, while having fun doing it. It’s called Repair. Build. Shred. Just go to www.KimberlyLou.com for details.

Until Next time, let’s lighten up and have fun!

What Is Your Biggest Fear About Being Your Perfect Goal Weight?

A famous quote says that, “Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate; our greatest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.”

In my experience the clients I have attracted have not been afraid to fail, but to succeed. “What would really happen if I lost this weight?” they wonder. “This weight (identity) has been a protective barrier for years. Who would I be without it? I don’t know myself any other way.”

Whatever it is, write it down.
